Specialist Physiotherapy
Providing a deeper level of experience and specialism for complex conditions.
What is a Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist?
Specialist Physiotherapists have completed post graduate qualifications and have worked clinically for a number of years in advanced practice. In addition, they need to demonstrate that they have been involved in education, research and mentoring other clinicians.
Who would benefit from seeing a Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist?
Anyone who has experiencing a lifestyle limiting pain or pelvic health problem they don’t understand
Anyone feeling that they’ve seen everyone, tried everything, and are still bothered or disabled by a problem.
Anyone seeking answers and a deeper understanding of how best to manage a problem
Anyone seeking a second opinion before making a decision on invasive procedures (such as surgery or injections).
What is the Specialist Physiotherapist’s role?
With advanced skills in assessment and management, specialist physiotherapists can conduct an in-depth assessment of complex conditions and provide a diagnosis with an explanation of all contributing factors.
Based on this they will provide a clear understanding of the problem as well as guidance in how to best manage it.
They will also screen to ensure the symptoms are not caused by serious health problems.
